Does Liquid Male Potency Formula still work if….

Question: Dr. E,

Does Liquid Male Potency Formula still work if you had your prostate removed?

Frank

Answer: Frank,

The odds are not in your favor here (and that’s with any product of this type). It may have some impact but it would most likely be very mild, if at all. Sorry about that. On a positive note: I don’t know how long it’s been post surgery and if it’s been less than 1 year you may may just need to wait a bit. some men do regain the ability to achieve an erection. The sensitivity is not effected so you will still be able to have an orgasm. With that in mind you may want to pursue  oral medication, penile injection therapy or a penile implant.

My morning shake is completely magic

Question: Hi Dr E,

I’ve completed my first month on the program that you recommended for me and I am extremely happy with the results. My energy is vastly improved , my spirit is high and my skin seems so very clear. My morning shake is completely magic and I look forward to it each and every morning. This is the program:

Yogurt with blueberries and strawberries
cinnamon
flax seed oil & lecithin
Absolute Acai
Liquid Power
whey protein
1/2 cup cranberry juice & 1/2 cup organic apple juice

I also take an extra 1,000mg Power C and 200 IU vitamin E

To start my second month I’m thinking about adding the Ultra Supreme Greens and Goji Juice. If so, should I continue with the extra C and E or would the new additions be sufficient. (the greens from the Liquid Power seem to be a bit gassy to me so my thought is to take 1/2 the recommended serving of the Supreme Greens). Please give me your thoughts.

Thank you so very much for all you help.

Sincerely,

Steve

Response: Steve,

I am glad you are doing so well with the program.

As far as the greens and goji go, I would do the greens and berries. ½ tblsp greens and ¼ cup berries. A little extra C and E will add a more protective quantity of antioxidants, a good thing. If gas persists you may want to try adding digestive enzymes to help break down the fiber.

Let me know how this work out.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.

Could you tell him that he might….

Question: I want to order this (Liquid Power) for myself, even though I have been into Good Organic foods etc. for yrs. I quit taking Fosamax due to the bad reports. DR. will not prescribe Estrogen any more, but says my bones look good. I will be 82 in Sept. Most people take me for no more than 60. I Ballroom dance, Can keep up with the 20 yr. olds.

My friend is 76. He takes a drug for B.P. a drug for Cholesterol, a drug for anxiety, & Ambien to sleep. This causes the other problem that men get from taking all these drugs. He does not want to resort to yet another drug, for this. Could you tell him that he might possibly be able to eliminate some of these drugs if he were to take your product. He also has Diverticulosis———cannot have tomatoes, other seeds.

Thank You

Marge Joyce

Answer: Marge,

Your friend has a lot going on and it would be difficult to guarantee that just one product will enable him to get off his meds. The Liquid Power is an amazing product and I use it a lot in my practice. My recommendation is that he try it for 3 months and see how he feels. He also would work with his MD to help eliminate or lower the dosage of his meds, if appropriate.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.

I would like more info on the Natural H-R-T

Question: I would like more info on the Natural H-R-T like the ingredients and maybe some testimonials or What can be expected. I had a TSH test done for thyroid and they are normal, they are wanting to put me on Prometrium and I am not going to take this drug so am looking for something natural to do or take to Help me help myself get back to normal. I need something to get out of the slump I am in, my will power Is not quite strong enough to do it on my own but do not want to use the drug to do that. If you could help Me out with some info about this product I would appreciate it.

Patiently waiting !!!!!!!!

Pam Puetz

Answer: Pam,

“I would like more info on the Natural H-R-T like the ingredients:”

What is Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?

Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) means that the chemical makeup of the replacement hormone is the same as what the human body produces. These natural hormones made from plants, which contain precursor molecules that the body can chemically process into a variety of bio-identical hormones. Your body recognizes and processes these phytochemicals as food and nourishment, sending it throughout the body, converting it to necessary hormones.

Our Natural HRT formula is made with Protykin® (Trans-Resveratrol) a powerful new plant estrogen (phytoestrogen) and soy isoflavones, with no known negative side effects which are normally associated with traditional hormone replacement therapies.

Women are no longer willing to accept the risks associated with synthetic hormones, and are searching for safer alternatives. An estimated two million women are now benefiting from natural “plant-derived bio-identical” estrogens and progesterone.

“and maybe some testimonials or What can be expected.”

We are not a medical office and we do not solicit testimonials. If we get any feedback, positive or negative, we post it to our blog. I can’t predict what benefit you will notice because there are way too many variables I don’t know about. If you were an active patient of mine I could better answer that question.

“I had a TSH test done for thyroid and they are normal, they are wanting to put me on Prometrium and I am not going to take this drug so am looking for something natural to do or take to Help me help myself get back to normal. I need something to get out of the slump I am in, my will power Is not quite strong enough to do it on my own but do not want to use the drug to do that.”

I have no idea what is going on with your body or in your life, so it makes it impossible for me to make any qualified recommendation. Somebody thought it was appropriate to recommend progesterone. You may want to find a natural progesterone. Better yet, why not try our Liquid Power (multi vitamin/mineral), some aerobic exercise and eliminate wheat, corn, barley and oats. This is a generic recommendation but if 100 random people tried it, I bet 75-85% of them would notice a marked improvement in their health and feeling of well-being. Just a thought.

Also, please read my disclaimers below as I have to stay within legal parameters with my responses and what questions I can answer.

Sincerely,

I Think a Competitor Smoked Some Goji

I must be bored, because I decided to surf some competitor sites to see what they are up to and BOY did I find some funky stuff. I am not a critical person by nature but I decided to have some fun with this. All of this comes for just one, high Google ranked site.

“I am not knocking goji berries, I love goji berries and my family and I eat them every day. I am just having a little fun at the expense of this website.

First off, “Our Goji berries come from Northern Asia in the Tibetan and Mongolian Himalayas.”

I don’t have a PhD in geography but even a sixth grader knows that the Himalayan mountain range never has and never will extend into Mongolia, and I personally know that goji, even in the smallest quantities are not coming from either Tibet, Mongolia, Tibetan Plateau or the Himalayas. Anyone claiming as much is either uninformed or just out-right lying. I would love to have any company advertising such claims to show me a picture with GPS coordinates as proof.

More gibberish. “Goji berries will grow in almost any climate, but are most prevalent in the Himalayas.”

I forgot, some of the worlds most celebrated botanical gardens are in the Himalayas and on the Tibetan Plateau (which is at a lower elevation then the actual Himalayan mountain range) .

Fact: The Tibetan Plateau, comprising most of Tibet north and east of the Himalayas, lies at more than 3000 m (10,000 ft) in altitude, with poor soil and arid climate conditions unfavorable for fruit crops. Defined by the geography of Tibet, particularly in the western Himalayas, cold nighttime temperatures averaging -4°C year round  with six months of continual frost would inhibit plant bud development and prevent fruit formation. Existing in Tibet are minimal subsistence agriculture and impoverished crop management and transportation facilities unsupportive of commercial berry production. Although limited fertile regions suitable for food crops exist in the valleys of Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse, and the Brahmaputra River, there are no objective economic, scientific, or government reports on the commercial production of Lycium berry species from these Tibetan regions. (from Wikipedia, also verified via references)

More? “We are the best source for Himalayan Goji Berries because we directly import the authentic Lycium Barbarum, the original and most nutritious known strain of the 41 Asian varieties.”

There is that Himalayan goji berry again. This time it’s the most nutritious of 41 strains. Again, I am not a PhD ethnobotanist but I have done enough goji research over the last 3-4 years to know that there are less than a handful of edible Lycium varieties world-wide; Lycium chinensis and Lycium barbarum being the most famous  and well known. They have the best strain of the ‘41 Asian varieties’. They better get some anti-virals, it sound like the flu to me.

Again, more non-sense: “500 times more Vitamin C than oranges.”

I want some of this action to help me if I get some of the above. So, if a 6 ounce orange has 50 mg’s of Vitamin C, than 6 ounces of Himalayan Goji berries would have 2.5 grams of Vitamin C. Now I see where their coming from, they have the special strain, Himalayan variety, that’s it. Joking aside, the berries have between 29 mg per 100 grams to as high as 148 mg per 100 grams. Goji is a very good vitamin C source and I do recommend them daily in my practice.

I am starting to feel bad about picking on this site but it’s like slowing when there’s an accident of the side of the road, you just can’t help yourself.

Another doozy! (Any typo or misspelling here comes from their site): “HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE:
Goji berries are known to have a unique polysaccharide that stimulates the pituitary gland in the anterior of the brain to produce more Human Growth Hormone, the master hormone in our bodies. HGH is know to slow down, and even reverse some of the effects of aging. For centuries, people in Asia that have customarily eaten Goji berries have been documented to live longer and healthier lives with little or no incidence of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, fibromyalgia, lupus, multiple scirosis, or a host of other “dread” diseases that are afflicting many of the Industrialized Nations of the world.”

We better let every professional sports player in on this one. Just think steroids will be a thing of the past. All you need to do now is eat a hand-full of goji berries and watch time being shaved off your ¼ mile sprint or amaze your friend with your new found muscles and ripped abs, just from eating goji berries.

The best part about the above referenced paragraph, is that if I eat goji berries I won’t get the ‘dread’ disease – multiple scirosis. That sounds like a nasty one!

I thought Goji berries came from Tibet?

Questions: Do you have raw Cacao Nibs?

I thought Goji berries came from Tibet? and how are your Goji berries compared to the Himalayan ones at Henrys?

I know there is a dramatic price difference, Henry’s $6.00 yours $ 21.00.

Elizabeth

Answer: Goji berries do not come from Tibet nor are they grown in the Himalayas. MLM company Freelife and others started this myth and it seems to have stuck – but it is just hype.  Goji berries are mentioned in Tibetan Medicine – but they are not grown in any marketable quantity in Tibet or the Himalaya’s  - The altitude and aridness would not support the plants.  We have been there - we know!

I think the berries in Henrys come in 4 oz bags vs 18 oz – I can’t remember if the ones in Henrys are organic?

Also if you buy 2 the price is $19.99 per 18 oz bag.

Our berries are high quality and certified organic.  We think our pricing is pretty good when you take that into account.  You get what you pay for.   Example: look at the cost of Henrys Goji, Acai, Noni and Mangosteen juice prices and compare to ours.  All our juices far exceed the quality found in anything on Henry’s shelves!

Lastly, we do not have Cacao Nibs.

Have a question? Ask the Doctor! July 2008

Question:Dr. Ettinger

I am a 43 year old woman…weighed 122 pounds in February and starting gaining weight unexplainably…all in my stomach.  I have now gained 27 pounds.  I am a runner and typically watch what I eat so this is unusual.  I have also had gas….daily.  My stomach is bloated/distended to the point I look like a pregnant woman by the end of the day.  My Doctor has ran a series of tests including referring me to a gastro-Dr…..had a colonoscopy.  Not sure what is going on.  I was in Mexico in January…..possibly a parasite or something.  The weight gain is extremely unusual.  I have been under a lot of stress….my daughter was killed in an accident in Oct. 2006.  Any thoughts on what may be going on and any natural remedies I can try.??

Thanks

Sarah

Answer: Sara,

First, please read all the disclaimers below. (Only found at the bottom of my out-going e-mails)

As you mentioned, it could be a parasite, stress or any number of other things. It would take a thorough consultation, initial exam with labs to get a confirmation of what’s going on. If you can get to Orange, California, that would help us both out. If not, I would find a holistic practitioner in your area. The medical profession is great with diagnostics but lousy with treatment.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc
